Have you Heard?

The weather has turned gloriously, beautifully, wonderfully, absolutely PERFECT in the past few days! :D We have been busy getting outside to enjoy it as much as possible.

This morning I took the kids to a wildlife preserve called The Heard, as we can get in free with our museum membership. They currently have an outdoor exhibition of animatronic dinosaurs, which was really cool! They have them lining one of their hiking paths, so you just wander around and happen upon them. It was just beautiful out there this morning, and the area is heavily wooded, and it felt like we were somewhere else altogether!

Here is Luken discovering the first dino!

Then we had a picnic lunch! There were picnic benches nearby, but I really wanted to have an old-fashioned lunch on the blanket!

Then we ventured inside, where they had a really cool room full of snakes. Well, the snakes were in their little plexiglass houses, but there were tons and tons of them. Rattlers and other venomous ones, and a giant constrictor, too! Luken loved looking at all of them!

They had a big "snake" that you could go inside of, and the kids had a blast running through it over and over and over again!

They also played with some plastic dinosaurs - Keeley dove right in and loved it!

After that we picked out a couple of small souvenirs - a wooden snake for Luken and a little dinosaur for Keeley, and headed home.

It was a great morning, and we will certainly go back there again!

What fun!!! I love Keeley's reaction. I picture her saying "Oh my!" in a Southern accent. I can't wait to go.
