Luken's first lost tooth!!

In October, the kids had a regular dental appointment. We learned then that Luken's two bottom front teeth were both a little loose, so we wondered how long it would take before the first one would fall out!!

At Thanksgiving, we were just certain that it would be any day - and thought for sure it would come out while Grandma and Grandpa were visiting, but it did not happen.

Over time, one got wigglier and wigglier, and we waited and waited!
We kept telling Luken we really wanted it to happen on a Saturday when we were all home together (not that he could really control it, but you've gotta ask, right?)

In the middle of January, it seemed SO loose!

He could wiggle it all around with his tongue, but that sucker stayed in...

FINALLY, on the last Saturday in January, Todd decided to test the tooth and see if he could yank it out, and it actually happened!!!!
It came out!!

Let's have a look!

It was kind of bloody, and I remembered swishing salt water around whenever I lost a tooth in my childhood, so we hooked him up with some.

That did the trick!!

When we first thought the tooth could come out any day, I had ordered a tooth fairy pillow for Luken from a seller on Etsy. It is such a cute boy pillow! His name is Tegwyn.
I kept it a secret until the tooth finally came out!

Tegwyn's mouth is a pocket for the tooth!

Todd explained how the whole thing would work. :)

Then, Luken went upstairs to the kids' bathroom to examine his new smile.

We also made some calls to the grandparents to share the big news!!

Then, Luken went to bed with Tegwyn by his side.

In the morning, Luken showed off his gold dollar coin, left by the Tooth Fairy!!!!

Woohoo!!
