Epic Snow!!

On Thursday, February 11, our little area of the world was blanketed by epic snowfall. It snowed all night and all day and all night, and records were broken!

Unfortunately, on the same day, Luken was sick at school in the afternoon, and Keeley was in the midst of a gnarly case of croup, so we had to make do with watching the snowfall from the comfort of the couch.

Look how beautiful everything looked after it stopped!

Would you like to have a seat? ;)

The umbrella looked like a Christmas Tree!

The basketball rim had extra defense that day!

The official record-breaking total at the airport was 12.5 inches.
In the morning, probably after some settling, we recorded 6 inches in our backyard!

On Friday, however, the clouds were still, and the kids were much better, so we got to go OUTSIDE and PLAY!!!!!!! School had been cancelled, woohoo!! (Todd was able to work from home in the morning, but went in for the afternoon, so he didn't get to play with us.)

Some snow angels, by snow angels. <3

The kids got started on a snowman...

However, then the neighbors drove by, and said they were going to check out the man-made hill in the middle of our neighborhood. A few minutes later they called, and said they were going to stay there, as it was too much fun!!!
People will come up with all kinds of interesting "sleds" in the absence of actual snow toys. Cookie sheets, laundry baskets, pool floaties, etc! Some people had actual sleds, and many were sharing.

Patrick and his cookie sheet. :D

Luken and Jacob.

Keeley started making snowballs. :)

Luken, starting the trek back up the hill.

A view from the top!

Mommy and Keeley!

Kelli and Jacob wiping out!

Keeley, trying out her little pool inner tube. This kept her entertained for quite some time!! :)

Luken, exhausted after sooooooo much fun!!!!!
