Idyllic Sunday

Today was seriously one of the most gorgeous days, ever! It was a perfect 70º and sunny - and NO WIND, which is a huge plus here!

I had a fit of inspiration to make a southwestern salmon salad for dinner, and Todd grilled up the fish and some quesadillas for me. I was such a beautiful dinner, I just had to take some pictures! And since it was so nice out, we decided to dine al fresco, and so the camera just kept snapping! :D

The salad, with freshly made Ranch dressing with fresh cilantro chopped up and stirred in. YUM!!! Oh, and a nice refreshing beer to kick off spring!

Look at those fancy grill marks on the quesadillas!

Lovely flowers in a pot - these guys survived the winter all on their own!

Dinner is served.... CHEERS!!

Somebody at this table is NOT so cheery. Hmm... perhapst this certain someone should consider taking an actual nap every now and again??

Silly boy!

Luken, saying something very interesting about sea animals, no doubt! Do jellyfish eat salmon, by the way? ;)

After dinner, the kiddos got to play outside some more.
Here it looks like Luken has actual love for Little Sis! :D

Super slider!

We discovered a spider that had been hanging out under the slide...

Luken decided binoculars were in order, so as to observe said spider more closely.

Here is our spider friend, before Daddy decided he didn't like the looks of him and took him elsewhere...

Time for some chase!

And then some pretend swordfighting!

And some tackling!

And some more airplane! (Seriously, why on earth do I ever buy toys for these kids?? ;))

Silliness with Daddy! (The stuff wonderful childhood memories are built upon!)

Gotcha!

Uh-oh - Keeley got a hold of those binoculars while Luken wasn't looking...

Showing some serious angry-face here.

Looking on longlingly...

I'm really sad, Daddy!

What's that?

Daddy digs into his creativity bag and suddenly the two of them are playing with their pretend-hand binoculars, spotting all sorts of interesting things in the yard, like octopuses and other sea animals!

This is kind of fun!

What do you see, Daddy?

Keeley still has those binocs, and she is amused...

VERY amused!

Luken is back to being pissed off about it!

Really, really pissed...

But it's nothing a little cake can't fix!

Hey, Mom... I'm all frosting-sticky!

After that we had to coax the kiddos inside for baths and bedtime. We are so excited about spring - hopefully we'll have lots of days like this before it gets unbearably hot!

These are such fun pictures - both posts - I kept trying to look from work but they block everything now! How dare! Fun days ahead with beautiful weather - and by the way, I am totally swinging over for some of that salad but please be sure there are none of those creepy spiders!
