Some Family Fun!

Last week we took a short trip to Scottsdale, AZ for some family R&R. Todd's parents are down in Tucson for the winter, so they came up to spend some time with us.

The desert is so beautiful - Todd and I both miss it! :)

One day we went to the Science Museum (at least, I think that's where we went! I forgot to take a pic of the exterior, or save anything that might jog my memory later, haha!)

Luken, checking something interesting out!

There was this really neat room with all kinds of heart models, and this body, onto which they projected footage of an actual heart surgery! We spent a little time watching that, as our little friend Vivien had heart surgery, so seeing that was special to us! :D

BUGS!! How cool!

Beth, this one's just for you, heehee!

Look, Mom - a Goliath Beetle!

Investigating an ant farm with Grandpa.

They had a neat dinosaur exhibit there. Lots of large-scale robotic dinos - whoa!!!

Luken was FASCINATED with this scene. Yes, these are smaller dinosaurs attempting to eat a larger one!

The kiddos playing in the fossil dig sand.

Saturday was a GORGEOUS day! (It had been raining and overcast most of the time before that.) It was a perfect day for the ZOO!

We rented a double stroller for the day - it was a smart idea!

A beautiful eagle.

A lookout point for viewing the giraffes!

The tiger, hanging out up in the tree! It took a few minutes to figure out where he was!

Keeley and Grandpa.

The requisite meltdown (one of them, at least!)

Followed by a beautiful smile while enjoying the carousel!
(I played around with a different look for this pic.)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Luken loves it, too!

Cutie pie!

Gorgeous zebra!

Stretching their legs a bit!

Time for a little refreshment!

Galapagos Tortises. These guys were so cute!

Keeley liked 'em!

On to the petting zoo. I think this was Keeley's first time at a petting zoo. She loved it!

Silly Luken smooshing his face into the mesh of the stroller!

Beautiful girl!!!!!

A typical Keeley expression!

Kids with Grandparents!

Keeley, picking out her souvenir - a monkey!

Luken opted for a bag o' snakes!

Later, Keeley went golfing for a bit. OK, actually she just played around on the putting green behind our room.

.
That's all I've got! We had a fun trip, but we're ready to stay home for a while now! Keeley did fairly well on this trip, but the plane rides were still difficult. Sorry, fellow passengers! :P
.
Oh, I must note - we did get to have In-N-Out Burger TWICE on this trip. Mmmmm..... as delicious as we remembered. :D

Trying out my new lens...

Got a new lens for my camera the other day. An early birthday present. (Tamron 28-75 2.8 for those who care!)

Anyway, I've been testing it out on the cutest little models the world has ever seen!

Luken, just chilling out on the couch watching his Octopus show (shout out to Amba for helping us out after it was accidentally deleted from our Tivo! :D) Note the octopus on the shirt!

Saturday morning, going for a ride/walk around the block. (We had sent Todd out for a massage for his birthday, so we were out entertaining ourselves.) Here's Keeley trying to keep up with Luken, hehe!

Happy boy!

Takin' off!

Cutie patootie!

So, last weekend we met some friends at the park and I took some Valentine's props, hoping to get some cute pics of my kids and ready to take some for my friends, too. Well, I got some great shots of kids who were not related to me. *sigh* None of L or K.
Soldiering on, I thought if we hopped over to our neighborhood park after our walk, I might get something cute!
Except Keeley and I had a disagreement over whether or not JakJak (her lovey) would be accompanying us to the park. I won that battle, but apparently I lost the war.
This is how she felt about doing a photo shoot!

Here Luken, you play with the roses. (Keeley, just keep screaming, OK?)

We played a little - here is Luken looking handsome while gazing off into the horizon, or something...

Shortly thereafter, we went home. :( Oh, well.
Sunday was an absolutely perfect weather day, so the 4 of us headed to the park in much better spirits!
Luken, working on his swinging technique.

Cute Keeley!

She sat there quite demurely until she lost her grip, fell over backwards, and landed on her head. OOPS! She got right back on the swing after a 2 minute crying spell, though. Go, girl! :D

Some sliding fun!

Funny face!

Back at home, the kiddos played on a little ride-on toy we inherited from the kids' cousins.
Whee!!

Luken's a little big for it, and yes, it's technically a *girl* toy, but these are trivial matters!

Beautiful blues!!!

Super-sweet girl!

.
Yes, I know they both need haircuts, and yes, I know my watermark still says 2007, haha!
