Cave Paintings

We are studying the ancients for history, and our first project was making cave paintings.  It was a blast!

First Field Trip!

Late in August, we took advantage of Dallas Zoo passes that were about to expire and had our first field trip!



We visited the penguins first.

We hadn't visited the zoo in a long while, and they had since redone the Savannah portion.  It is beautiful!

This lovely fellow had just met a meal.  It was SO cool to watch him eat!  His fangs walked along the back of that mouse. We had never seen that before!

Hello again!

Long time no see!

We've been busy - VERY busy!

In case you were looking for the traditional first-day-of-school photos... well, we didn't have a traditional first day of school.  We've made a big change, and have chosen to homeschool.

Our first day was very relaxed.  I didn't have all the supplies and curriculum for the kids yet, so we spent some time organizing what we did have, and taking over the dining room in the process!

First, though, was breakfast!







LOTS of silly faces!  :P

Then we tackled our mess!




And worked in a few workbooks.


That was about it! Things get more interesting as we go along.  ;)
