We were all dressed up to attend the wedding reception of some friends who were recently married, so I took the opportunity to snap a few new portraits of the kids.
And Keeley took this one of us!! :)

4th of July - Parade and Fireworks
Keeley's Indian Princesses tribe participated in a 4th of July parade, and Keeley and Todd joined in the festivities.
A few days before, the two of them went off to decorate the float, while Luken and I had a date on a patio for dinner. :)
The morning of the parade, we met up with the tribe. It was fun to see the float and get to meet all the girls in the tribe, their fathers, and other family members.
Miss Keeley (Brave Warrior) and the float.
Dad and daughter.
The biggest fan in the crowd!
She was so stinkin' cute! She waved her flag the whole way, and waved to the crowd like a pro!
Luken also waved his flag with pride. He really enjoyed watching Keeley in the parade.
After the parade, we had lunch on another patio (we have had the BEST July weather EVER, and we have enjoyed it!)
Later, we drove to our favorite fireworks-watching-parking lot, and settled in for a bit. We brought UNO cards to help pass the time until the show.
Then, fireworks!
We had a great day. :)

Geography Club - USA!
We are part of a Geography Club with some other members of our homeschool social group. Every month we study a different country, and each family contributes something to the learning. In July, we picked the good ol' U S of A.
We learned about the history of the flag, and watched a few videos on our independence and also on how fireworks work.
Then we had an old-fashioned potluck with hotdogs, deviled eggs, an ice cream bar, and such.
Later, we decorated scooters, bikes, and the like and had a little parade on the street!
We also got to throw Pop-Pops on the driveway. Such fun!
Time for the parade!
Here's a photo of the moment Luken biffed on the street. :P (He was fine.)

Water Acrobatics
We are having such a fun summer! We are frequently busy with our homeschooling group, and every other week or so, we have a day at a pool - shaped like Texas! At the panhandle end, there is a diving board, which is a rarity these days, and the kids like to do all manner of tricks and flips and such.
