We had a pretty low-key Spring Break this year. We enjoyed some down time at home. One day, we took a day-trip over to Fort Worth to see the Stockyards! It was a gorgeous day - perfect for such fun!
We arrived in plenty of time to see the cattle drive. While we waited, we visited the petting zoo that was setting up nearby. (More on this later!)
Then we grabbed our viewing spot for the cattle drive.
They are so big!!!
After that, we took a few moments to plot out the rest of our visit.
We decided we wanted to do a few things that required cash only, so the kids and I took a few photos in a nice spot while we sent Daddy off to find an ATM.
Silliness.
Sweetness. :)
Then we had a discussion about eye color, and I took this picture to prove to Keeley that her eyes are not actually brown. They are hazel, and her left eye has a cool chunk of dark brown.
Speaking of beautiful eyes...
After we reserved the next ride on the stagecoach, we wandered around to see the sights in the old train station. They kids thought this was great fun!
Then we picked out a few treats in a neat candy store, and munched on them while we waited for our ride.
Here it comes!
The whole family!!
We had so much fun on our ride, though that stagecoach was definitely not engineered for going over speed bumps!! :P
Visiting a horse.
So, back to the petting zoo. These baby goats were FOUR days old! They were so cute! They would fall asleep in the kids' laps and just get all cozy and cuddly. The kids could have stayed there all day!
Happy girl!
After snuggling baby goats, we went to visit the longhorns we had seen earlier in the cattle drive. They were just hanging out. :)
Our trip to Fort Worth was very enjoyable! We had never gone over there before, so it was a fun first, and the kids are at a really good age for things like that. :)
