This year was our indoctrination to Field Day. I do not remember doing this growing up, but everyone else seemed to know all about it, so perhaps I simply don't remember.
Simply put, Field Day is organized recess/P.E. All day. :P
The kids go to many different stations and play games.
It really is a lot of fun, and at this early age, it is pure silliness and goofing around.
Luken and a band of his buddies.
Piglet Toss.
Being a true-blue boy, and pretend-shooting while waiting for the next thing.
Telling secrets.
Early in the day, the kiddos had a LOT of energy and ran and ran and ran even when they were not playing a game.
Later in the day, as the sun peeked out and they tired out, they sat and rested.
Sack race.
Luken was not terribly proficient in this game, and fell down often. But it was very funny and cute!
A little help from his teacher. :)
Some sort of two-person, no-handed ball race.
Three-legged race.
The kids were hilariously unclear on the concept!! :P
Bouncy ball race.
I looooooove the way his cheeks are all dragged down, distorting his face in this one!1 <3
This was a sponge relay, and the teachers would DRENCH the kids!
And sometimes just launch the entire bucket-full of water on the class!!
(Luken is at the far right, attempting to make an escape!)
Tire-rolling race.
We had a lot of fun watching this! I can't wait to see how they do next year!
