Egyptian Pyramids

Some Egyptian fun.  The kids constructed a pyramid out of sugar cubes!









After they had build their pyramid, they wanted to sample the sugar, naturally.

Cuneiform Tablets

This was another fun history activity, while studying Sumerian Cuneiform writing.  The kids wrote their names.  :)

Cave Paintings

We are studying the ancients for history, and our first project was making cave paintings.  It was a blast!

First Field Trip!

Late in August, we took advantage of Dallas Zoo passes that were about to expire and had our first field trip!



We visited the penguins first.

We hadn't visited the zoo in a long while, and they had since redone the Savannah portion.  It is beautiful!

This lovely fellow had just met a meal.  It was SO cool to watch him eat!  His fangs walked along the back of that mouse. We had never seen that before!
