The other weekend, our HOA sponsored an outdoor event. It was originally supposed to be on Saturday, the same day as the averted lake trip/Lego substitution, but it was postponed for one day, and what a beautiful day it was!
There were bounce houses and giant slides, as well as rock climbing, airbrush tattoos, sno-cones, and cotton candy.
Here is Luken, going up the giant slide.
And sliding down!
Keeley, attempting an obstacle course.
She ended up panicking, and had to be rescued!
Next, we stood in line for the airbrush tattoos.
I couldn't resist this photo. (giggle, snicker!!)
A ssssssssuper cool sssssssssnake!!
Keeley had picked out a beautiful butterfly, but chickened out at the moment of truth.
Grandma played with her while we were in the next line.
At last, at the front of the line!
There was a cotton candy machine, as well, but it decided to overheat when it was our turn!! :(
We found a spot on a bench to enjoy the cold treat!
Alllllll done!
Then we goofed around a bit.
And, as this event was held next to a park, there were swings involved.

Legos, Legos!!
We've been very busy around here, and I have taken a ton of photos, but have not had time to settle down and post in a while. So this is the first of 4 or 5 new posts that will appear over the next few days.
The other weekend, we were supposed to have a day on a lake with friends of Don and Carol. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. It rained. All. Day. Long. :(
So, we made the best of it, and headed to the mall, where a new Lego store had just opened, and checked out the festivities. The line to get into the actual store was about 2 hours long, so we skipped that, but headed right to the place they had set up a giant building station, where a giant R2D2 was in process. Each participant got to build 4 bricks towards the cause!
These pictures were taken with my cellphone, so don't be too underwhelmed! :D
The kids with their bricks.
The partially-built R2D2.
And a mini model!
Did I mention we were at the mall on a rainy Saturday? Yeah... it was packed. So we got out of there and went to get Mexican food for lunch! :P

Tales of a three-year-old butterfly princess!!
I can't believe it.... our little baby girl has turned THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable!
We started our day at the Disney store, where we met Grandma and Grandpa, who are in town for a bit to visit friends, and then come stay with us in about a week. They wanted to buy Keeley a princess dress-up outfit, and have her pick it out herself!
She found it all quite overwhelming, and in the middle of trying one one dress, she had had enough and wanted OUT!
It seemed she did not want a princess dress-up outfit afterall...
So, we wandered the store in search of something more Keeley-friendly.
A-ha! A pink princess nightgown! Keeley LOVES her Tinkerbell nightgown, so having another nightgown is perfect!
Must go show Daddy and Grandpa!!
We then wandered around a bit more to come up with a few more exciting things like a Tinkerbell doll, a Sleeping Beauty outfit, and a Princess beach towel! What great stuff!!
Next, we headed over to the mall carousel, where Keeley decided she did NOT want to participate! However, Luken DID, so he and Grandpa took a ride!
After the ride, Keeley gave Luken a sweet hug!! :)
And was then carried off in Daddy's arms! <3
Keeley decided to be sweet and pose for a photo with Mom and Dad!! (See, Nina, I do occasionally make it into a photo!! This one is just for you! :P)
Time to head home and PARTY!!
We had put together a small family tea party, as the only theme Keeley would stick to was PINK!
I decided to make it pink polka dots, so I made some finger sandwiches and cut them into different sized circles.
And we had some fruit.
And pink lemonade! The kids drank theirs out of tiny espresso cups, and Mom and Grandma drank from wine glasses.
Daddy had bought her some pink flowers!
CHEERS!
After a little lunch... JELLYBEANS!! We've been telling Keeley for some time that when she turned 3 she could have jellybeans, so we got her a special bunch of just PINK ones!
She declared them to be "chewy!"
Of course, the jellybeans were just a segue into CAKE!
Pink, with pink polka dots! (The polka dots do look a bit orangish, which I don't understand because I simply tinted them with more of the same pink I tinted the rest of the fondant with, but who knows how these things truly work?)
Look, it's me with two of my creations!! :P
Sweet girl, eyeing her cake!
Time for singing and candles!
And now we dig in!
Cake got a little messy, so she changed into her new nightgown. Isn't she beautiful?
And what is a birthday without PRESENTS??
She received many girly, princessy, butterflyish, beautiful, wonderful gifts!
However, when I dared try on her fairy tiara head thingy, THIS is the reaction I got! :D
Yes, I know... she is MY daughter!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!! We hope 3 treats us all well! ;)
