We had Keeley's 1-year checkup today, just a little late... (I forgot to make her appointment far enough in advance - oh, well!)
Her stats:
Weight: 19lb 4oz.... 20th%
Height: 30"............70th%
Head: 45cm...........45th%
And Luken's, for comparison:
Weight: 22lb 15oz ...55th%
Height: 30"............. 55th%
Head: 48cm ........... 95th%
Nothing particularly notable from the rest of the appointment, aside from her being pissed off at the doc for peering in her ears, and at the nurse for giving her 3 shots. She is just perfect!
She is still nursing, but just twice a day - morning and night. She has transitioned fully to whole milk in a soft-spouted Nuby cup during the rest of the day (I'd started her with vanilla soy milk, as she wouldn't drink milk when we started the cup, and I was desperate for an alternative to breastmilk straight from the pump.)
She pulls up and cruises like a champ, and has attempted a step or two, but doesn't seem too interested in solo walking just yet. She will stand for a bit on her own, and has even stood up all on her own on occasion!
No "real" words just yet - a lot of "da" as an all-purpose word, though she is a pretty good mimic and has said "apple" - she just doesn't really know what it means! She is quite good at making her opinion known, nonetheless - she is L-O-U-D when she wants something, or is unhappy for any reason. Ear-splittingly loud.
She LOVES to dance, and will shake her little booty just about any time she hears music, or if I sing to her! It is just the CUTEST, especially when she'e wearing one of her dresses with a pleated skirt, as it swishes back and forth!
She figured out how to get down the staircase all by herself! She gets down the first stair headfirst (*gasp*!) but then turns herself around and goes feetfirst. She especially likes to do this after her bath, while she's scooting around naked! :D
Her hair is getting kind of long, and a bit scraggly, so she may be due for a trim soon. She's starting to sport the baby-girl mullet I remember many of my friends' daughters working through! She won't leave a bow in her hair for more than 2 seconds, and won't let me put any hair elastics in for baby pigtails. :( I will keep working on it, though... ;)
She adores her big brother and covets all his belongings! He adores her right back, though they have plenty of sibling skirmishes each and every day. When they are truly playing TOGETHER, there's nothing sweeter or cuter!
