Feeding the Ducks

It was a lovely weekend, and after dinner on Saturday we decided to take a walk to feed the ducks! We set off with Luken in the jogging stroller and Keeley on Mommy's back, strapped in to our new Ergo baby carrier!

At first, Luken was a bit apprehensive. He still remembers a time about a year ago when a duck nipped his finger!

This was my end product from a "Photoshop Challenge" on a local message board for moms in my area! It was too much fun! I will have to come up with other scenes, though it would be a lot easier with a tripod. These were taken while my camera rested on a patio chair.

While Keeley was in the bath the other night, I was inspired to have a little fun with her hair - my dad used to do the same with mine when I was little!





After her bath, she decided to take off into the playroom before I could get her diaper and jammies on her! Cheeky little monkey! ;)

Luken, the artist!

This was actually from earlier in the month - one morning I found Luken's Disney doodle book with THIS drawing! It has Luken's telltale smile-that-stretches-across-an-entire-face. I wasn't QUITE sure that he had really done it himself, though, so I emailed the picture to Todd to see if he recognized it, and he assured me it must be Luken's work!

I am so proud!! We draw these characters FOR him all the time - this is the first time he's drawn one himself! Sometimes he tries, but he gets very frustrated if he doesn't make a perfect circle - he must have worked very hard on this one!

We spent a little more time in the Bluebonnets the other day, and came away with some more cute shots of Keeley!

Our visit from the Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny came to our house!

First, we put out some carrots and water for the Bunny.

(And, yes, he is wearing his Christmas pajamas because it's been coooooold here. It's really hard to believe that this time last year, it was 106º! This Saturday, some nearby areas actually got some snow!!!!)





The Bunny visited overnight, and left these baskets for the kids!


He also hid some eggs all over the house. Two were even in Luken's room! What a sneaky Bunny!

All in all, a pretty quiet day, since we didn't have any extended family around this year. We had a nice bacon and eggs breakfast, and had a small ham with new potatoes and green beans for dinner. No outdoor egg hunting as it was ridiculously cold here (and everywhere, so I've heard.)

Our photographer found a photo in which Luken is actually looking at the camera and smiling! However, Keeley was looking away. Thanks to the miracle of photo-editing, she was able to edit Keeley in from a different photo to make it work! Keeley isn't smiling in this one, but hey, that's life with kids, ha ha!

BLUEBONNETS!!!

Unlike last year, the Bluebonnets are out in force this Spring, and they are soooooo gorgeous!!! It is wonderful!!

Now, getting two young kiddos to look at the camera at the same time, with nice smiles on their faces is an impossibility, but I still got some beautiful shots.

The woman who runs a local Mommy message board I frequent, who is also a photographer, offered her loyal forum junkies some FREE Bluebonnet pictures, so our little family took advantage! We hope she was able to get just ONE great shot of the 4 of us, but I'm not sure the kids cooperated. We shall see...
